This is not related to fpv so i hope i am not breaking any rules. I have been working on this for 2 and a half months and i really want to share this project with you guys. I burned a lot of boards, bought new ones, and burned them too 😂. What is it you ask? An AI robot inspired from Interstellar(TARS) that can look around, talk and look up information on the internet. It looks nothing like the robot from movie but it speaks like it(kinda) and It is really basic right now because it is my first raspberry pi project. I first started to make it with esp32 but burned it twice, so i switched to Raspberry pi. I don't have a 3D modelling experience for printing so i made the chasis out of legos because why not? The US gov just announced 10%-100% tariffs on foreign drones and components, with full implementation by February 2027.

Ive been through this a couple times now. As soon as I read the article, I put together an order for everything I could afford. From this point on, as retailers run out of stock, the chances of resupply go way down. Some will try to keep restocking until the last minute, but not for every product. Whatever is in-stock will keep going up in price between now and then so the retailers can understandably hedge profits for future operations. There is a chance that some of this is reversed, but it isnt guaranteed. No matter what, retailers will be more concerned for their futures, prices still havent gone down since this first started happening, only increased.

For example, even the cost of a Rush Tank Ultimate vtx on Amazon US increased $10 in ~1-2 months, before this announcement, so change has been accelerating regardless of policy. If you have a frame/camera/stack/etc that you like in the US, it would be good to buy as many as you need while you can. Remember, all our equipment is ultimately disposable, batteries die, transmitters/screens burn out, frames break. This is not financial advice.

My second time out flying the 'open' prop Firefly25 - it sure gets up there. Just getting a feel for it and figuring out how to fly it. Working up the nerve to point the nose down and dive dive dive - maybe one day - learning. 🦘

Learned to solder with these diy practice kits. Put together the oscilloscope, power supply, and ohm board from scratch. They come as blank boards with loose components and a wiring diagram. Not going to use them for stuff that needs high accuracy, but the scope did give a good test signal. Lots of fun and learning if you like puzzles, lego, etc.!

Current status for my FC project. All components and PCBs are ordered.. now its a waiting game.

Still undecided how I m going to solder the components onto the PCB. But most likely I m going to use a hot plate / heat gun combination..

Been pretty down the last couple of days. Normally i go to the park early morning to fly, less people. I had a couple days off work so been able to sleep in a little and go later. Because there was people at the park, i couldn't really fly my 5", so got the little BetaFPV Meteor75 out and flew that around practicing some orbits... a couple of kids from the playground saw the drone and started chasing the drone, i just kept my distance, occasionally yawing around to make sure they weren't getting too close. Next minute, i have some lady bashing on my window yelling at me. I was sitting in my car flying, and had my windows up. I yelled out hold on a minute, as i started bringing the drone back for a landing. She kept insisting bashing on the window (i legit thought she was going to break my window. Next minute once I land and get the goggles off, and she is calling me Pedo for flying at the park around kids, i tried to explain to her that i have no interest in going anywhere near her kids and that they were chasing it. She was saying she was going to call the cops on me (which i know flying FPV in queensland is not really legal without a spotter), so I left.

It has demotivated me from flying so haven't flown since.

I think we will introduce a new rule for the marketplace:

- Used stuff only / no store listings;

- FPV more than DJI, haha.

Ok so still no OSD, i did not notice first time that the image is almost analog... very low quality. Even if the set up is perfectly done... AND no OSD... AND nothing was recorded on the SD card either @*!&@*! damn it.. is this camera broken? If I follow the advice below about the red message here i should swap the camera with another one I have... grrr

I have an AxisFlying Manta 3.6 and it drives me crazy. It’s like it’s too powerful for the frame. I’ve broken it every time I’ve flown it. Every single time. Messing up my batteries, destroying motors, burned up a FC. This drone might get parted out.

Anybody running the Meteor 75 Pro P1? I bought the rtf bundle and after about 2 weeks keep having image in the goggles freeze up as soon as the quad moves at all.

Hey, does anybody have a Emax Tinyhawk II freestyle? I want to have a 3d printed Emax Tinyhawk II freestyle frame cuz it looks good and it's very hard to find one here in Malaysia. If any of you guys have one, feel free to dismantle the quad and take every picture of the frame yea. The bottom part, top part canopy mount, everything. It would help me A LOT. Thanks , if you can.
