The specs page on the radiomaster website says
> Battery: 7.4V 2-cell Lithium-Polymer / Two 3.7V 18650 Lithium-Ion cells / 21700 5000mAh Battery (batteries not included)
But the Oscar Liang review says
> It comes with a battery holder that accommodates both button top and flat top 18650 cells, but it won’t fit 21700 cells.
so I'm not sure what to believe. Ive purchased the radio online and I'm waiting for it to ship, and I just happen to have some spare 21700 cells that id rather use than buying new 18650s if I don't have to.
Yep so definitely 18650s only
If Oscar says it, I would tend to think he's right. Even over manufacturer lol. 18650s are a different size than 21700s (18mm diameter and 65mm long vs 21mm and 70mm) so I would think the radio couldn't hold both.
BUT it's totally worth waiting for it to arrive just to make sure. Unless you've got money to burn of course
The bay on the TX16S can accommodate the radiomaster 5000mAh battery, which I think is made up of 21700 cells, so perhaps that's what they're talking about for the GX12

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too, I definitely have grown to trust Oscar above all in this hobby, I was just hoping someone else already had hands-on and had been able to test it explicitly. The package gets delivered today so I'll update the thread with the answer to help anyone enquiring here in the future. Ive got some DIY 18650 packs I don't use all that much that I could desolder one of so I'll be fine either way, it just would be sweet to use the fresh 21700s I already have if possible 😅
