Took my new drone down to the Barossa Valley for my cousin's wedding. Flew around, seeing some spectacular countryside from a new perspective, and generally feeling a sense of unbridled freedom

Yep, my daughter sported a very short patch of hair after a run in with my quad. No chance of detangling it so we had to cut it out

My son (10 soon) is interested in drones, but he's not confident/comfortable/competent enough to let him loose with my 5in quad yet.

I'm considering a DJI neo as a gentle introduction for him, it's slow and self sufficient enough that he should be able to drive it around with my phone to start with, and then move on to using the DJI controller and my goggles 3 when he gets a bit more used to how it handles.

Then, when he gets the hang of that, I can get him a 2S whoop and his own set of goggles, and pass the neo on to my mum, who wants a basic photography drone.

Thoughts?

@Uri-Nator87 You mentioned above that you have OSD working, that takes the MSP signal to do, so if you have an MSP connection then you should be able to arm the air unit too

Would it be in low power mode permanently then? On the O3 you need to send an arm command to make it so the full bitrate

Radiomaster has some good specials going at the moment for the TX16S; US$180 for the max and US$120 for the standard model

Works out to approx AUS$250/$350 shipped 😎👍

The issue with discharging is that all that energy has to go somewhere, so most chargers use a load resistor to dissipate the evergy as heat, and a fan to help cool that resistor.

Discharging more current means getting rid of a lot more heat.

I have an ISDT K2 air for dual output desk charging, and an ISDT Air 8 for travel purposes, both are great, but will still only do 1A discharging

The SD card will often have firmware files that aren't appropriate for your radio. It's to simplify things in their end; one SD card image for all radio variants.

Have a look behind the module bay cover, there should be a sticker there that shows which version you have.

Shipment back to DJI was free and overnight. Sent them on Wednesday, they arrived yesterday, and today they have completed their assessment.

"Goggles Battery Module was malfunctioned, which caused short supply power time; SN may change. Test will be performed after repair. Firmware will be solved after repair. Due to under warranty, DJI will provide free service."

I'm pretty impressed with that response time. Should have them back in a few days

Actually your first image looks like the webui, look for the 'Binding phrase' section:

Enter your binding phrase there and select 'Save' down the bottom

It should have a webui, you can set the binding phrase there.

If the TX module and RX are on the same major version (e.g. 3.x.x) then the should be able to be bound.

So I'm thinking of a 2S O4 quad.

I'd like to fly outdoors (in calm weather) as well.

Any suggestions? I watched a lot of reviews that recommended the Mobula8 but that looks to be O3 only at the moment

Can we make the login cookies last longer than 1 week? I access this site from 3 different PCs and it seems I always have to login again when I open it.

And they're being sent back to DJI for 'comprehensive inspection'

Struggling to get my goggles 3 to accept the latest firmware update (I'm 2 versions behind at the moment). Using the latest version of dji assistant 2 (consumer drone version)

Have tried a bunch of different cables and 3 different PC's. Symptoms are it gets to 68% of the upgrade then stalls and eventually times out with error code 1-2-6. Anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?

Goggles were between 75-90% charged during the attempts

I have a quad with an O3 and I love it!

My son wants to get into FPV but I'm not letting him fly my 5in in the house 😁

The goggles 3 are on special here at the moment for $786 instead of $869, but I think the N3 will be more suitable for him. Good to know the O4 works with the N3.

Clarence Valley, New South Wales, Australia?

Have you tried the map function? Looks like there's another pilot just south of Grafton. You could try messaging him perhaps.

Looks like a good list. My first quad was a nazgul f5 v2 with O3 / goggles 3 with a pocket (ELRS) for TX, and an isdt Air 8. I bought four 6S batteries and then another club member sold me another 6,

It's been faultless, and it's certainly not holding me back in any way

I was considering the N3s for my son. I have the G3s and love them and he wants a pair so he can fly too.

Guess I'll need to save up a bit more for another set of G3s

@Spacepud Ahh yeah a bent prop can cause all sorts of vibrations and misery.

You can often just bend them back straight, although putting a new one on is preferable.

Let's take flight together and elevate the world of FPV drones to new heights.
