To my knowledge, dynamic idle starts only when in Airmode. The RPM in arming stays the Same.

That would be me, I can help troubleshoot. I watch Chris Rosser's video about the air 65's vtx output power and set mine up just like how he advised and it's great, i put dynamic idol at 60. Stock tune was also good. I could try putting your quads cli dump on mine to see. 🤓

Ok, maybe i have to rephrase my question
anyone here got a air 65 R and uses dyn idle ?

Again, as stated in my initial post, i can and i am using static idle ... but i want to understand why it is not behaving as expected on my whoops when it does exactly what i expect on my 2 inch, my 2.5 inch, my 3 inch, my two 3.5 inch, my 4 inch and my two 5 inch drones.

You really don't mess with dynamic idol? It's pretty clever. When you zero the throttle (presumably from hover point), and do say, a roll to the left, the left side motor would go to static percent* , but dynamic idol makes those motors go to 0% until the rpms are actually close to your dynamic idol setting. I'm pretty sure it only does it if your motors have the rpms to scrub off and the flight controller needs it to.

No quite contrary, i want a higher rpm "ceiling" so to speak, but even if i set the dyn idle value to the max possible value it's still like flying with a static idle set too low (for my taste at least)

Yes sorry, I've never used dyn idle. A lot of times ppl asking for troubleshooting don't really know what they're doing, it's clear you do xD

i'm sorry, but this gets kinda tedious
it's really nice of you that you want to help but if you have no clue ... it's not really helping ? 😅

as i described, no matter which value i enter i always have the same idle rpm
January 18, 2025 at 5:39 PM
how do you confirm that dyn-idle isnt on?
January 14, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Np ^^
i really don't think so
as mentioned the mobeetle went through 3 bluejay versions and i played around with the settings a lot
i haven't touched the air65 esc firmware or betaflight version and i haven't found anyone yet having this problem at all, let alone with a stock air65

yes
somehow i knew this would be the first question but forgot to preemptively answer it ^^

Dynamic idle on whoops not working properly
If i activate dynamic idle on my whoops (mobeelte6 and beta air 65 R) it doesn't matter what value i put in, the start rpm always stay the same.
the mobeetle always acted a little strange so i stopped investigating after a while but now my brand new air65 shows the same behaviour.
especially with the mobeetle i tried everything from different bluejay versions and betaflight versions over changing the settings over cli etc
Of course i can just use static idle, but it drives me insane to not understand what the root of the problem is and why only i seem to have this specific problem ><'
Ah, sorry, kinda gave up and forgot checking the site for a while
I didn't change anything or only some filtering
i also saw Rosser's video (or any other on that matter)
What is your hover throttle position ?
if i activate dynamic idle its at or above 50% for me ... static idle more like 20 without throttle limitation
