Fairly new to the hobby, and mostly fly small FPV wings or tiny whoop using walksnail. I'm in the Seattle area (Shoreline) if you want to hang out.

So, it's kind of interesting.  I found my rates weren't crazy or anything.   On "actual" rates in BF, they were 180 center,  670 max, but no expo on all.  I just added .3 expo to all, and changed my throttle hover/mid point to .4 from .5 and added .3 expo there too. Yeah, I've heard throttle expo is bad/forms bad habits, but I've had some trouble keeping the altitude I want, and decided to try throttle expo just to see the effect.

I think the .3 expo and throttle idle point adjustment and throttle expo helped me today when I did a quick flight, but I don't really like how much harder I have to punch the throttle after coming out of a dive or maneuver now, but the other effects have been pretty positive, so perhaps I just have to get used to using more throttle now.

Thank you!  yeah they are stock, so I really do need to mess with them.

I'm new to whoops/fpv quads. Let me know some drills and things you did to improve that I might try. I have liftoff that I use for learning new things first before trying them IRL.

I have been considering building the FT Super Bee for a while and haven't gotten around to it.  What's your experience with it been like?  I've only heard good things really, so any criticisms or tips to get past any annoyances you had would be nice to know.

Also, what's your main motivation/desire to move into wings?  I have only flown wings fpv, and was considering getting a small fpv drone (I have a DJI mini, but that's not the same at all).

Honestly I have been searching for the same thing and this has been great for me.  Built it 3 weeks ago and finally put up a video:
It's durable mostly because the arrow shaft isn't going to break at these speeds, and the parts that are likely to break you can easily make many of them for very very cheap.

I made a great FPV trainer for fixed wing flying. Super easy to fly, pretty durable and very cheap!

@LegallyBlind the switches on the top don't get in your way at all?  I just got (haven't received yet) a boxer because although the gx12 looks amazing, it didn't look as comfortable to me, and I'm just used to switches facing up toward me (hybrid pincher).

@EpicPieFlavour and anyone else who would have input, how would you compare the Flywoo Firefly 2S Nano Baby 20 to the Meteor75 Pro 1S HD or 85? 85 looks like it's much more similar being 2s, but maybe for my first real fpv quad I should stick to 1s and my own backyard or below the tree line at the park, far away from any wind?

@EpicPieFlavour Thanks for the advice, I'll look into it.

Hi everybody. Really want to find a small fpv quad I can fly near where I live without annoying people too much. I mostly fly fixed wing besides my dji mavic mini (yeah, first gen...can't believe it still flies). I'm looking for a micro drone/whoop that is fun to fly, walksnail (because that's what I have), and can be relatively quiet if you aren't absolutely ripping it. I was thinking of something like the Firefly 2S Nano Baby 20, but no idea how loud they are. Looking for suggestions or input from others on what I should do.

Longer explanation for context:

I like fixed wing mostly because they are so quiet (or can be) in comparison to most quads so I can fly them at local area parks without people noticing too much if I stay > 100 ft, besides when I come in to land. It's not a safety thing (when is it actually, ever?), as I'm careful, don't fly if crowded, and I've never hit anyone or come close, but people unfortunately have a much more negative reaction to quads/drones than something that looks plane-like in my experience, even if it's nowhere near them. I live in a neighborhood near a major metro where they have not yet banned drones in parks, but have everywhere around me, so I'm hoping never to give people a reason to push a ban. People come up and ask me/talk to me about my planes (especially funny looking obviously diy ones) in a friendly manner, but I don't want this to change if start bringing out a quad sometimes.

Left a review on product iFlight Xing2 1404 4600Kv Micro Motor

More power than you would expect!

I put 2 of these on a twin version of an FT Slow Stick style plane I made, with emax scimitar 3.5 inch x 3 props, and even at 300 grams of weight, had tons of power on 3s. Would have been more than fine on 2s. On 3s, I bet it would have been flyable with just 1 motor. I plan to use these on small twin motor FPV planes I scratch build in the future, and based on initial tests, will be perfectly capable.

@shanewang The amount of parts already suddenly on "backorder", everything from FCs, motors, ESCs, has me pretty sure even if new tariffs aren't actually increased/implemented, some damage is already done.

I was just looking at that exact drone this morning longingly on getfpv and thinking about pulling the trigger.  Can I get your opinion on it?

@FPVZaphod oh come on now, don't be shy.  Fly over New Jersey and give an actual "drone" to worry about.

@Liquideath Don't listen to this post.  This isn't safe if you don't know exactly what you are doing.  Get a Lipo charger.  Hota chargers are pretty good, I have one (D6 Pro), and some of the models on the lower end (T6) are not that spendy.

@Mikey Depends on where you live, but in the US, in WA at least, Home Depot will take lipos that are completely depleted (very close to 0 volts...hook them up to a low-current load for a very long time and check the voltage before taking them there).   If there is a RC flying club near you, sometimes they will have a bin for damaged/puffed batteries, and might take them from non-club members if you ask nicely.

Hey everybody, just introducing myself to the community. I'm pretty new to FPV. Been flying RC planes line of sight for 2 years, have an old DJI mavic mini that I mostly use for sunrise/sunset or other scenic stuff, and just got walksnail L goggles and the moonlight kit a few months ago. Only have a about a dozen flights with it so far. It's winter/rainy where I live (Seattle area) right now, but I've still managed to get out and fly some wings.

I'm interested in flying with people in my area so message me if you are too.
