They both have their place in FPV just like anything else. I think analog is great for entry level due to the cost difference not only to start but to repair as well. I have both systems and enjoy flying each one in a different way.
I really depends on how latency-sensitive you are (which you won't know till you've tried both) and also how much you care about image quality. This comes down to how you fly. If you're just cruising around enjoying the flight experience, by all means go digital. But if you think you will be doing freestyle, then analog is really good. Personally, I notice the reduced image quality, but I don't really care. The price and latency benefits are worth it for me. Note: I started on Walksnail (mostly due to people telling me to start with digital since you will do it eventually), but am now transitioning to analog, very odd.
