Help Needed: No Video Feed from Walksnail Setup
Walksnail Users and experienced pilots, Please help!
I got this Caddx Gofilm 20 with the Walksnail Moonlight VTX a couple months ago and had a great time flying it. Everything was fine until it survived ~ half a dozen mild crashes and eventually the video feed stopped.
The VTX seems to be working fine, outputs the OSD and binds to the goggles but there is absolutely NO VIDEO. My other WS VTXs work fine and my guess is either the camera or the camera mipi cable might be toast.
Anyone else that faced a similar issue ? I'd really appreciate some suggestions.

I do not have a Walksnail system but I got an open ipc system which also uses a mipi cable to the camera. I would try to reseat the mipi cable (a kinda loose cable can be a culprit). If this doesn't do anything I would try to replace it if you got a spare one (cable and camera as you mentioned) to test it.
But if you got a working OSD in the goggles the vtx itself seems fine. BTW if the firmware on it isnt properly flashed (if you did an update recently) this could also create an issue where it wont show a video feed.

Thanks! I ordered spare camera cables and the cable to connect the VTX to FC.
I haven't done anything to upgrade the firmware since getting it. It should be running whatever firmware was flashed at the factory.
I hope it's just the cable and It'd be disappointing if the camera is fried not even six months after the purchase. I'll reach out to caddx to see if they can replace the camera in the worst case.

My Moonlight kit died after a crash on its first flight. Was a pretty depressing. I eventually de-cased it out of boredom one night, to test for a short. I set it up again without the case, reseating the connectors, and it came good. Put it back together with some new thermal paste and it's been flawless ever since.

Damn!! That looks like a lot of work to get it to work especially at first crash. I'm still not that good at soldering. Hopefully it's just the cables 😅. Thanks for sharing 🙏🕉️.
