Beginner Seeking Advice on Starting with Tiny FPV Drones
Hi there!
I am an absolute beginner wanting to get into FPV with no prior experience whatsoever.
While I did end up buying a controller (FrSky Taranis Q X7) a few years ago I never got the chance to hop into a simulator and currently don't have a setup which could run a sim.
Therefore I was thinking it might be sensible to go down the route of Tiny FPV (I think referred to as cinewhoops?!) to learn the some control indoors before looking at building my own and getting the full gear.
Firstly is that a sensible approach?
Assuming it is, are there any suggestions for complete tiny fpv kits, not sure I could use the controller I already have for this. I do wear glasses, but wouldn't think this should influence the decision.

I am a beginner too and CINEWHOOP are for filming if you want freestyle or racing it’s called a tiny whoop. And I got the air65. Having some troubles but that because I did stupid stuff. Would help if you had a friend to help you.

Relative newbie here, too. I started with tiny whoops (BetaFPV Meteor85) to get comfortable flying and then moved over to 3.5" 6S. If I was starting over, I'd probably recommend beginning with a 65 or 75mm whoop instead and maximizing stick time in Uncrashed.
I generally advise against going with prebuilt kits, since you're gonna lose out on quality somewhere along the line. Instead, maybe scoop a Radiomaster Pocket (or maybe an ELRS module for your Taranis?), figure out if you want to fly analog or digital, and then make a determination regarding goggles. If going analog, and unless you're super constrained by budget, I'd also recommend avoiding the BetaFPV VR03 and any other box set that only has one RX antenna.

Thank you for the detailed comment.
The reason I was thinking about a prebuilt kit is that I don't have any experience so feel a bit intimidated with the full selection when it comes to all the components I would need to buy without forgetting anything, compatibility of the components etc.
Is the comment about analog or digital just a general one for flying or does this also apply to tiny whoops? My preference in general is digital for sure.

@Vedranoxs No worries! Depending on the kit, you may not be forced to sacrifice on quality in the way that, for example, BetaFPV's beginner kit sets the pilot up with a radio controller they're going to outgrow in a few months (due to cheap gimbals developing nasty input drift early into the device's lifecycle) vs something they'd want to use long-term.
Nothing wrong with flying a bind and fly or ready to fly drone. I still haven't built one yet either, although it's on the bucket list. If you're just getting started and aren't totally comfortable with the idea of building yet, BNF/RTF is most likely the optimal path.

Historically, HD-capable goggles have been significantly more expensive than their analog counterparts but, with the recent release of HDZero's new box goggles (which are apparently excellent), digital video is a lot more accessible.

Hey also, there is a sim you can use on your phone that allows you to use your transmitter. It's (RDS) Real Drone Simulator. It worked for me when I was first trying to learn Acro and didn't have a computer setup.

Wasn't aware that there were sims for the phone, thank you. How do they compare in terms of realism? Heard sims can often be quite "floaty" etc.

Maybe but for free and the ability to use your own transmitter kinda hard to complain about. First learning Acro was about muscle memory for me so if a sim wasn't perfect it probably helped me to learn the basic touchy movements. I feel like sims are a requirement in FPV learning process. Plus it's way less expensive when it comes to crashing lol. Which your going to do a bit of if you plan on getting any better at this. That's part of this amazing hobby though and welcome to it!! Get after it My brother!!!
