Apologies for the late reply gents, I was under the pump and missed the notification.
Thank you again for the link for the batteries. I did actually end up getting the Hota d6 pro based on reviews as well as plug availability and price over here.
Good tip with the usb port as I totally missed the fact that there was a mini usb under a cover next to the multi pin connector.
Can’t wait for everything to be delivered so I can hopefully get things going this time around!

@jfpoulin I currently do not own anything other than the radio itself. is the linked charger adviseable as an "entry" one? guessing the battery could plug directly into that one?! do you also happen to know anything about cables required to connect to a PC? I read somewhere that it needs to be like 5 pin to usb?

Hi guys,

I am trying to get into FPV by starting out with a sim.

At this point years ago, I bought the FrSky Taranis Q X7 and it has just been sitting on the shelf.

The other week I finally wanted to give it a try and bought a sim only to realize that I don’t have any battery and way to connect it to my PC…

My questions are:

1. is this still a suitable controller to get started and dip my toes into FPV?

2. What battery do I actually need?

3. What do I actually need to connect the controller with my PC? - I find different stuff from a simple cable to requiring almost like an emulator?!

Any insights are truly appreciated.

Many thanks

Ved

Note: this is a repost as my previous post from 2 weeks ago did not receive any replies.

Wasn't aware that there were sims for the phone, thank you. How do they compare in terms of realism? Heard sims can often be quite "floaty" etc.

Thank you for the detailed comment.
The reason I was thinking about a prebuilt kit is that I don't have any experience so feel a bit intimidated with the full selection when it comes to all the components I would need to buy without forgetting anything, compatibility of the components etc.

Is the comment about analog or digital just a general one for flying or does this also apply to tiny whoops? My preference in general is digital for sure.

Thank you for clarifying the terminology. Will certainly have a look at the air65, thank you.
Unfortunately I have just moved across the globe a few months ago so no friends that might be able to help.

Hi there!

I am an absolute beginner wanting to get into FPV with no prior experience whatsoever.

While I did end up buying a controller (FrSky Taranis Q X7) a few years ago I never got the chance to hop into a simulator and currently don't have a setup which could run a sim.

Therefore I was thinking it might be sensible to go down the route of Tiny FPV (I think referred to as cinewhoops?!) to learn the some control indoors before looking at building my own and getting the full gear.

Firstly is that a sensible approach?

Assuming it is, are there any suggestions for complete tiny fpv kits, not sure I could use the controller I already have for this. I do wear glasses, but wouldn't think this should influence the decision.

Thanks

Ved
