No, it just makes the battery less efficient. The warmer the batteries the more amps they are able to provide without voltage sag.

Lovin it

I loved the soldering iron like a baby, it was light and small, yet was very powerful and easily handled soldering battery leads which are thick and heavy. The soldering iron heats up in only 15s at max input power which just absolutely blew my mind since my Weller soldering iron took 2 minutes to heat up properly. It can be easily carried around along with other soldering equipment in a neat bag. However its a bit uncomfortable to hold for long durations of time since its designed to be portable and slim.
