I spent some time this evening reading at Joshua Bardwell's site. As a result, I think I'm leaning toward the HOTA S6. Seems to have good specs. One other thing he recommended was the ISDT BG-8S Lipo Battery Checker. That's definitely on my list now.
I'm still using an old HobbyKing 4 button. When I get some 8S batts I'll need to get another one. I'll probably get an ISDT or a HOTA. I got a set of Chris Rosser's 8S motors to burn! The regular 6S blue Supernovas are really nice though, I bought twelve of them. I crash a lot and if you're not breaking stuff, you're not getting any better! I just want to try 8S really badly. 😲🤯
@canigetausername I just retired 2 old hobbyking ones (in that I gave them to friends)
They worked well and gave many years of good service.
I replaced them with a ISDT Air 8 (for travel, it's tiny) and a ISDT K2 Air (dual output, AC or DC in) and they have been great. Very fast to charge, automatically detect the cell count when the battery is plugged in, and give more info on battery IR etc.
They also have an app, which I tried once and then never used again (as I don't charge my batteries unattended, I'm in theroom anyway so I just look at the charger screen)
