Can I Fly FPV Drones Outdoors Legally in Tasmania?
Hi i'm looking at getting into drones especially FPV with goggles but our laws here in oz seem to only allow indoor flying. Is there a way to fly outside legally I don't know of any clubs in Tassie.
this is general advice and not tassie specific. so read into this as much as you want. Generally most pilots just fly safe, away from people and property. They dont bother people.
does a tree falling in the woods make any sound?? if no one is seeing a drone flying was it ever flying?
Thanks Stew, Your great vids have inspired me to seriously consider purchasing/building a Starship or Lightning paired with possibly an 04 Air Unit, N3 Gogs and RM Pocket Crush. Because I only have a small house/yard and no access to a large private property I thought the local parks and public areas would be suitable so I checked out the "rules" hoping they would have improved since last time I checked but was disappointed it seems that they are written by bureaucrats that have no or little understanding of FPV operations with backward statements like "This limits your situational awareness and increases the risk of the
drone colliding with people, trees, birds or even other aircraft.
Without situational awareness, you may not be able to maneuver the
drone in time to prevent a collision". It seems that they never bothered to investigate or talk to any FPV enthusiasts so I am not sure if I will commit to and spend a Grand or more just yet but I will keep watching your vids. Thanks again
