Advice Needed: First Aircraft Choice for FPV Flying
I was thinking about this as my very first aircraft.

Maybe it's not the best choice, I don't know.
Another one that looks good to my untrained eye:

What would you recommend as a first step after simulators?
Thanks!

I am just flying for a few days, so my experience is definetly limited.
Does it have to be a Cinewhoop, because they tend to be more fragile than classic freestyle frames. The Cineape has a plate thickness of 2.5mm and from what I heard, the Flylens tend to break at the camera mount.
I myself will get to cinewhoops later, but for the start, I bought a BabyApe 2.
It´s inexpensive, does behave very well and it´s quite sturdy (5mm Arms).
Hope I could help you ^^
Greetings, Sporni.

Thanks Sporni!
A basic problem I have at this point is this: I don't really understand the difference between the types of quads. Is everything with FPV a cine-something? Is a freestyle quad one without a camera? There are a number of different terms used to describe how a quad is put together, but as of today, I've not found a simple explanation of what they mean.
Thanks for the reply!

No problem ^^
So cinewhoops are made specially for filming purposes. They have always prop-guards on, so you cant hurt anyone, when flying near other living things. But prop-guards are bad for aerodynamics and they add extra weight. To counter this, they often have thinner frames, that can break more easily.
And I think, everything without propguards you could call a ´´freestyle´´.
They all have cameras, but on cinewhoops you dont have the props in view, because that would suck in a video.
Hit me up, if you have any questions left ^^

I would recommend the Meteor 85 HD from BetaFPV. They have a Walksnail option which seems to be the video system you have linked. I have one and I love it!
It's a great starter drone that can still rip around, but is very durable and can't really hurt anyone like a heavier 5" can.

Thanks to all you who made suggestions. I wound up buying a Happymodel Mobula8 based on a recommendation from @gleikyle and the fact that it was actually in stock.
It should be here this week.
Thanks!

Hi, I hope it all works out okay for you. I'm just like you, starting out. I am flip flopping over which first drone and camera system to get. I will be interested to follow your progress with the Mobula 8. I still really suck on the sims but improving slowly so I guess I'm not in a big rush as I recognize that I suck and would just smash anything I tried right now. There is so much to learn. Lastly one question, which camera/video system did you select to "commit" to with your Mob 8?

I bought the Walksnail Goggles X, so I'm 'bought into' the Walksnail Avatar system. The little drone will show up here with that camera and VTX onboard.
I just got a good image using the HDMI Input on these goggles just a few minutes ago. That's the first time I've tried to wear them, and at first I was really disappointed. But after a bit, it became more acceptable, and so I watched some video using them and it was fine. I guess I won't send them back after all. LOL.
As Admiral Greer says in The Hunt for Red October, ". . . the data support no conclusions as yet." I have a LONG way to go before I know enough to have an opinion.
Hang in there! If this is something you really want, you'll get back around to it.
