Hi All,
I finally received my very first FPV drone after waiting a long time for shipping.
Figured out how to connect it to my pc, bound it to my Jumper T15 via betaflight and bound it to my DJI Goggles 2 via the tiny button on the side of the drone.
After this, I figured out how to setup a switch on my radio to arm the drone, which took me a bit.
I finally got it in the air, hit my ceiling which caused it to fall to the floor.
A second flight, used my throttle more carefully and still obviously crashed it, which is to be expected.
The crashing isn't the issue.
What is the issue is that after the 2nd crash, I lost video signal in my goggles.
The drone was still responding to my radio just fine, being able to arm it and spin up the motors.
I had to figure out how to relink the VTX to my goggles before it worked again.
After this, I also limited the throttle in Betaflight to 70% just to be safe.
This is where it got weird.
I armed the drone, it instantly lost video signal, picked it back up after a second or two.
Then, it throttled up by itself, but not enough to lift off.
When I tried lifting off by myself, it flew a bit, dropped down and started throttling up on the floor, after which I disarmed it and removed the battery.
Question:
Any idea why my video signal is disconnecting as well as dropping out?
Any idea why it is throttling up by itself?
Any and all tips and help are appreciated!
Maybe the connection came lose, the one that connects o4 to flight controller. Have a look if all cables inside are secure connected.
Sounds either a cable is loose or it's dropping below 5v and switches off.
For now, my thoughts are that the VTX is overheating and turning off.
Perhaps I let it turned on (both via usb to pc as well as with lipo) without actually flying.
I do not have a desk fan for cooling it either.
Could this be the source of my issues?
Today I powered it on via lipo and the VTX leds are barely lit.
It does not connect to my goggles and can not be put into pairing mode.
Any ideas?
The drone arms and flies like normal.
Also adding to this:
When I connect the air unit via USB-C to my pc, the leds light up bright like normal.
It is also visible in DJI Assistant 2 and I can see logs up to yesterday evening when it stopped working.
Meaning that the power ons after that point have not created logs.

Not sure how to test if the voltage from the battery to the o4 is sufficient.
I think I read about something like a BEC but not sure how that even works.
If I can't figure it out, I might just return it and perhaps think about stepping away from DJI.
I can't even think about losing that much money after just a single crash if it turns out that the O4 is busted 😅
I'll have to figure out which cable that is but I'll try!
