This is the third flight of Okami, the latest addition to my fleet. Okami, a SpeedyBee Mario Mini 25 with O4 Pro, is an open prop freestyle quad with 2.5" props. And wow she is a blast to fly and handles really well.
I look forward to many more flights with Okami. I could easily see her becoming my favorite quad.

We had a rainy Saturday in Austin, which would generally mean I'm not flying... But instead, I spent the rainy afternoon whopping the warehouse with several of the ATXFPV folk. Kudos to Tarz for helping setup a defined track and lighted gates. Even at my slow pace, it was a lot of fun flying the course, and I found it inspirational watching people who can fly the course quickly.
I thought this was a great way to spend a rainy day. Working on skills and chatting with like-minded friends, old and new.

I was planning to meet up with a few folks from the ATXFPV group to fly at a new park in South Austin. Unfortunately, the wind didn't agree with our plans. Happily, one of the group invited us to fly in a warehouse where he works.
I'm so glad I took him up on the offer. Five of us spent the afternoon flying pack after pack, crash after crash. I haven't done a a lot of indoor flying, so I really wasn't sure how it would go, but I had an absolute blast.
We all had plenty of crashes, sometimes in interesting and awkward places - I think everybody got trapped in the cube gate at least once. But I think we all had an amazing time, it was great throttle practice, and I think we'd all happily spend many afternoons flying here.

The Mobula8 with O3 was my very first acro, fpv quad. I rebuilt her with O4 last summer, which helped her performance a lot. At that time, I renamed her to Anqa. I decided to go even further and put a HappyModel Bassline frame on her. I also changed the FC to the BETAFPV F4 2-3S 20A because of OSD issues.
I sat in Jason's Deli and rebuilt the quad, configured it, and was pretty sure it was ready to fly. So I stepped out, did a brief test hover, and then this first quick flight, just to see that she flies. And she does!

Last year, on our drive to and from New Mexico, we saw this amazing sculpture of Santa and his hay bale reindeer. A bit of research suggests that Joe Ed’s Auto Supply has started putting up this sculpture annually. You can find it on I84, just east of Muleshoe, TX.
While we couldn’t fly it last year, I'm so glad we made time on our way home to fly with Santa this year. What a fun sculpture!

After flying the Flyway, my long-time friend Steve took us to fly the sculptures at the Pueblo Montaño Picnic Area. These were a lot of fun and reminded me of flying the totem poles in Saxman, Alaska near Ketchikan.
It was so great to see Steve! I'm so glad he could come out to hang with us, on zero notice, and introduce us to this park.

I met up with my long-time friend Steve to fly Flyway, a sculpture on Albuquerque's west side. It was late afternoon, which adds pressure to get the flights in before sunset, but I love the look of those long shadows and golden tones.
This was my second flight at this location. While I was chatting with Steve, a young man came over to ask about the drone.
I offered to go up one more time so he could watch, and he happily accepted.
I was hoping to fly some other nearby sculptures, but the road was closed. Instead, Steve took us over to the Pueblo Montaño Picnic Area to fly there. Look for that video coming soon!
