I m using a 3K woven fabric. So I have got pretty much the same specs as a frame which was made out of 3K carbon fiber sheets. Which is used by most frame manufacturer... The difference hereby is that I compress it into a shape directly instead of using a CNC machine to cut it out of a sheet. About chopped carbon.. it has less stiffness but it would have a bit better dampening properties and it would handle certain crashes better..
If you like the pattern of the chopped fibers you can mix it with the woven one to get similar specs..
The current test frame I m doing is 16 layers of woven carbon fiber and 4 layers of glass fiber (this gives me a 5mm thick plate) which will have less stiffness compared to a 3k full carbon but glass fiber gives better dampening so it should dampen motor vibrations better.. therefore less filtering in BF..
