Diagnosing Motor Issues in Dusty Environments
Diagnostic question? So one of my motors is dropping out mid-flight(Brushed motors+dusty desert environment= bad combination) . What is the best way to go about determining which motor should be replaced?
Another one, are there any special precautions I should take with brushless motors (Whenever I can afford the upgrade) when flying in dusty desert environments?(especially if i'm crashing alot due to being a noob).

The direction it dips towards is usually the one going out, loosing thrust causing that corner to fall.

Usually its fine, the motors can be cleaned out easily... Unless there small bits of ferrous materials at the surface then they stick to your magnets. Somewhat unlikely though since iron is heavier than the surrounding material, Just be cautious when landing or taking off.
Motors should be replaced when they cannot rotate smoothy and a grinding can be felt specifically in the bearings. (watch out for sand or substrate in the motor bell) Optionally you can replace the bearings.
OR if one of the coil windings are hotter than the others then that could mean a shorted coil since enamel wore down.
