Hello there, I'm DroneKoorts, also known online as LeadPoisoned07 or XGamerGX13. I've been obsessed with RC aircraft since 2019. I had a small hiatus of three years but since the summer of 2025 I'm back into FPV, specifically micro drone racing. My other hobbies include making music (I play guitar and the main genre I play is progressive metal), drawing, programming (including Arduino and Pi) and I have a YouTube channel where I post videos inconsistenly. Glad to meet you!

(Defective) Fat Shark Predator V2 wanted!

Hello everyone, I have been experiencing an issue with my Fat Shark predator V2 goggles. The left LCD screen is broken, and I can't find a replacement anywhere. That's why I'm asking if anyone has a pair laying around that they are willing to donate. Preferably in europe to avoid all to expensive shipping costs (which I'm willing to pay for).

The DJI avata series are definitely an easier way getting into FPV, avoiding most of the technical part of the hobby. Although some purists might say you're not a "real FPV pilot"

Joshua Bardwell has a good series on how to make a 5 inch FPV drone from scratch:

He also has one for sub250:

These build tutorials are both catered to his build kit, but can be used with any parts. You might find this recent video also interesting:

If you choose to get DJI, used or new, check this compatibility chart:

Any other digital system are one offs / two offs so I don't think you'll run into compatibility issues as long as you stay within the same brand.

I agree with @BlaqkstarFPV. Alternatively, it might be worth checking out the BetaFPV P1 or Caddx Ascent video systems, as they are a lot cheaper and might suit your needs (of course there are compromises). Other than that you're looking at spending a bit more than $500 for drone and goggles (DJI Goggles N3 + BetaFPV Meteor or Pavo series) new.

And the TX15 max doesn't? I honestly can't find anything about max output power on radiomasters website.

Why is the radiomaster boxer max more expensive than the radiomaster TX15 max? It's 40 dollars more expensive on radiomaster's website, while it's objectively worse in every aspect.

That's right, there probably are some analog to digital and vice versa conversion problems and maybe PAL to NTSC and vice versa, but they are so minor I haven't had any issue with them yet (I used JB's analog preset on some quads). Same goes for betaflight version: any mismatches would also make it imperfect because some features get changed by name or added / removed. I've seen that most people post their OSD preset with analog / DJI / WS / HD0 in the description.

Free FPV tool idea: OSD profile creator

I have an idea for another free FPV tool that might be handy: an OSD profile creator without the need of a plugged in flight controller. What I'm thinking of is the Betaflight OSD tab, and any customization can be saved to a CLI dump to be used across multiple quads and shared online. I also think it would not be totally out of place if it were part of this website.

Might wanna grab a multimeter and go around the boards checking for a short. What kind of smoke stopper did you use? Because it sounds like it didn't do it's job terribly well...

First paid FPV sim: Uncrashed or The Zone?

Hello everyone, I am unsure between these two FPV sims as my first paid FPV sim (I currently have 100 hours in various free sims). My prior choice is Uncrashed, but The Zone also piqued my interest. Due to my budget it's one or the other. I want to use the sim mainly for freestyle / cinematic training, since I will be getting Velocidrone for racing and the community. What I like about uncrashed is the graphics and polished user experience, and I feel like The Zone is more sandbox style with a lot of features to tweak with. Because of the steam sale they are both basicly the same price, so price plays no role. I'm curious for your experiences and opinions on both these simulators! If you don't feel like sharing, I've made a poll for you to vote!

EDIT: I got Uncrashed!

I think we can assume that it takes just as long to charge all the smaller batteries as the one big battery. If parallel charging was alowed it would be cheating for option A 😆

What determines if a shop's stock is on the site? Droneshop.nl is one of the listed shops however what they have in stock is not added to the site.

Interesting project! I've flown some old brushed whoops. What I can say is that they wear out a lot faster than brushless motors, expect to replace them every 5 hours of usage. Also make shure you get the right size props since the 615 brushed motors often use 0.8mm shafts which will only fit with 0.8mm props (1mm will be too loose).

A little outdated but they are alright. About the same feature set as the BetaFPV VR04.

Prenons notre envol ensemble et propulsons le monde des drones FPV vers de nouveaux sommets.
