Looking for thoughts on running a whoop workshop.
I have a handful of young people this summer that are mildly interesting in building and fly a quadcopter/fpv so was thinking about doing a workshop. Has anyone one done anything like this? What challenges are there? what are some things I should prepare beforehand? It will be kids ranging from 11-15 year old.
I was thinking the first thing they need is to buy a controller and velocidrone mobile (they all have phones) to get them first familiar with controls and throttle management.
I would get them to build whoops which is easy to go solderfree.

I visited a drone class once and I was considering joining it, I ended up not doing it. But that is besides the point I got a full tour of their shop they had a lot of batteries, props, spare goggles and controllers. The students would spend some of the time building their own drones, then they would learn about part 107 license stuff then they would fly for the rest of the day and they could choose from a variety of drones to fly. It was pretty cool. I hope this gives you some ideas 😄. You can also ask me some questions about it if you want😄👍

Nice! very interesting and helpful. If you don't mind me asking, did most people have some background before coming in? cause I feel like it would take a lot more than a day to learn to fly and not sure I'm willing let someone try a 5", or even a freestyle 3". what ages were participating in that class?

It was a one year class they started with tiny whoops and worked their way up. And yeah they had some experience from the previous year where they were flying rc airplanes. And the age range was 13 to 14 years old. Also they only meet five days a month. They practice on a simulator and tiny whoops at home
