Long Range Drone Stuck in Turtle Mode - Need Help
Need assistance. I built a long range drone and mapped it to my radio like all my other drones, the drone is responsive and mapped to my RC while hooked up in Betaflight, but unplugged under its own power the drone is unresponsive & remains in turtle(crash flip)mode no matter what I do. Anyone else experience this and what was the fix?

Is the reciver powered when you diconnect the usb? On some stacks usb power is separated from the normal 5v regulator

not exactly. if you see a pad labeled 4v5 or 4.5v it gets powered from either the 5v BEC or the USB some manufactures will still labile it 5v. there is a diode preventing the USB from powering all the 5v items and when powering from the battery that diode eats 0.5v

What's your telemetry Source if I may ask? Elrs, crossfire? When you go into the bindings in betaflight and the receiver tab, are all your buttons working and your mappings configured correctly?
I was having a lot of problems with that once and what I ended up having to do was swap out the receiver on the drone, but that may not be the case for you depending on what the hardware is.

I’m using ELRS. All my switches are mapped correctly. I do notice when the drone is plug into the computer that I get telemetry with the radio. But under battery power it disconnects completely. The transmitter light is still powered on but it’s not connecting to my radio on battery power.

So that means you have wired your power and your ground correctly. Otherwise it wouldn't be getting power at all. The failures coming from between the battery to the power on the FC so that means it could be a communication, cable failure or even a failure in the the PCB itself. At this point. I'm not sure what else it could be in all honesty.
What's the FC you're using? Or the whole stack for that matter
