Support said that UART is correct, but the protocol should be Smartaudio. If I set it to smartaudio and save, it reverts back to no uart enabled.
Now, I am not getting a message that says no VTX detected. Band, channel, only option is none. Load the VTX table from Darwin's site and it errors out every line.
@proantifpv For troubleshooting's sake: what if the UARTs are incorrectly labeled? What happens if you try on another one?
Full disclosure: I've been scared to fuck w/ my VTX table or even update BF on my rig too much because it doesn't actually broadcast on the channel you config it for. When I set my VTX to use R8, it actually broadcasts on B5, so I wouldn't be surprised if similar inconsistencies extended out to their other BNFs.
If I understand the problem I think the reason that you cant put a Vtx table into the drone is because you do not have the uart set to smart audio. And the reason uart 2 does not stay on smartaudio might be because (if soldered the VTX into the FC) you maybe soldered the tx to tx and Rx to Rx instead of tx to Rx and Rx to tx.
I can't believe how much I overthought this. The VTX is soldered fine. It's an issue with BF update and hardware incompatibility. Trying to figure out how to load the OSD without reverting back to BF 4.1.1
I did. In the Video tab, I'm still seeing False under ready, but I also haven't battery powered it. Haven't checked with goggles either. Fingers crossed no rollback!
One other important edit- I was trying to load the VTX table through DFU/CLI mode. Thankfully, a screenshot pointed this out and doing it in the Video Trasmitter tab made UART 2 stick with SmartAudio.
