Heres where the “magic” happens! This is technically my dining room, so it’s not the permanent home for any of it, still working on the room it’ll all go into. Definitely not a blueprint to follow right now haha. Remember, you dont need all this stuff to get started. My journey into all this began with a raspberry pi 3b+, a pinecil, and a 2010 dell workstation.
Added several of the printers right before summer and quickly found out that this +120 year old house cant have them running in a main room during the summer due to the heat. Plus my doggo is a Norwegian Elkhound mix, so it’s already bad enough for him without 8 “space heaters” running. Going to install actual ventilation in the new room as well, VOCs are no joke.
Not pictured is a Canon prograf 1100 for archival quality photo prints that still needs set up. I also have to setup and take down all the post-processing/packaging stuff each time I do a run. Actually, now that Im looking at the photos, a lot of this requires constant setup and teardown, which really needs to change.
As I said in my fleet post, the main goal is to provide municipal drone services due to our towns struggling finances. The overall idea is to be a sort of local consultant in 3 parts. Since drones and 3d printing are novel concepts to the area, I dont know if either of them will work long term. So I divided it into complimentary parts that can operate together or separately, which will hopefully provide a consistent income long term.
Part 1: flying drones for surveys, inspections, events, real estate, etc. Part 2: high quality photo prints of peoples property or whatever they want, pretty much anything but weddings and portraits. I used to do concerts and have a large back catalog I’m going to try to get into a local gallery. Part 3: 3d prints for local business/orgs. Did some trinkets and signs for the high school graduating class before summer forced the stop. Also developing a line of tools/merch for some local shops.
Have a bunch of files for battery holders/cases and practice gates/other stuff to post here, hopefully pretty soon!
