Radiomaster TX15 Review
Before we explain why this radio is so good, let me just say that I’ve only been flying the TX15 Max, not the base version—so there may be some differences I missed.
Overview
The Radiomaster TX15 is a feature-packed radio at an amazing price.
Here are the main highlights:
ELRS built-in
Supports both 2.4GHz and 900MHz
Massive, bright color touchscreen
Comfortable ergonomics
Foldable antenna
Fast internal processor
AG01 CNC gimbals (Max version only)
Fancy faceplate and trim (Max version only)
Cool color options
Price
This is where I believe the TX15 really shines.
It offers an incredible amount of value:
$139 for the base version
$199 for the Max version
That's a crazy deal considering how much radio you’re getting for the money. If you're after an even more affordable option, the Radiomaster Pocket is still a great entry point.
What I Liked
Honestly, I’ve really been enjoying this radio. There are a lot of things to like:
The foldable antenna and upgraded gimbals are great out in the field.
The color screen not only looks great but remains visible even on sunny days.
The faster processor makes everything feel snappier.
For example, loading an ELRS script on my Boxer Crush takes about 3.27 seconds, while on the TX15, it takes 2.1 seconds (according to my editing software—probably not 100% accurate, but you get the idea).
Just using this radio in general is a pleasure—both in the air and during setup. That touchscreen is the icing on the cake.
What I’d Change
Not much, honestly.
The one thing I’d tweak: I wish the top-right shoulder button was a latching switch instead of a momentary. Radiomaster keeps putting momentary switches on their radios—why? Who's actually using them, and for what?
Also, pinch-style pilots with big hands might run into a small issue:
In my testing with Steve, during full upward stick deflection, he accidentally bumped the “SD” switch (top-right corner above the gimbal), causing the drone to disarm and crash.
This can be avoided by simply not assigning anything critical to that switch, but it’s still worth mentioning. Thumb pilots won’t have any problem here.
Summary
This is an amazing radio. It’s feature-packed, affordable, and hard to beat.
For the price, I truly believe it’s one of the best radios we’ve ever seen.
If you're new to the hobby: the base TX15 is my top recommendation.
If you're chasing the ultimate experience: the TX15 Max is absolutely worth the $199.
