How to Disable Onboard Receiver by Removing Chip?
Anybody know which chip to remove for the on board receiver to not work? It is messing up my quad now and it wouldn’t bind to my TX. By the way I think the Aio fc (without osd though) in the next picture might be the next best upgrade if this board fails because it supports 1-2s with a 12a esc. Kinda cool right?

So you have an external receiver and don't want the integrated one to work?
ELRS is managed by the ESP8285 and the SX1281, so I guess you would have to remove those, but I am not sure that doing so will remove the RF completely, because the circuit might still make RF, but I genuinely don't know. Just be careful cause the board looks quite crowded and you could damage the blackbox chip.

alright , thanks man. The board is actually really crowded though. I don't know why that whenever i want to start up the external RX for the binding phrase, the onboard one always takes over and wouldn't let the external RX do it's thing that why i decided to just permanently erase the onboard one. Btw which UART does the Betafpv Matrix v2 board use on the soldered on the external RX? UART 1 or UART 4? (or maybe 2)

You can also remove the oscillator next to the ELRS antenna.

what is an "oscillator"? After removing, the onboard RX wouldn't work right?

@tz3den An oscillator creates a frequency. I'm coming from synthesizers but I think in electronics it is used to create the right frequency for a protocol to work (ELRS 2.4 GHz --> 2.4 GHz oscillator on TX and RX). But I don't know if the uarts will still work without that one. Maybe they have their own or don't need one idk.
So after removing the oscillator the onboard RX won't work anymore, but I am not sure if the USB port and the UARTs will still work.

It is the silver component next to the antenna. Just remove it.

I found these that may help. Idk which chip you gotta remove buy be careful not to remove any transistors or other small stuff.

im on myphone so i cant check easily right now, but can you not just use a spare uart and tell the FC to use that instead? that way you dont need to de solder anything,

i mean i can but if i want to set my binding phrase into the external receiver, the onboard RX wouldn't let my external RX send out RF signal for expresslrs so that's why i have to disable the onboard RX. Btw betafpv said that if we wanted to add an external receiver, you have to unsolder the "resistor"? Where is it??

General advice here: do NOT try to just remove a chip off of any pcb without knowing way more than we will probably ever know about the board.
Desoldering chips without even damaging just that chip requires knowledge and fairly specific tools, and that's not even talking about successfully doing it without damaging anything else. Much less leave everything else on the pcb working plus the whole system every component on that board makes up, fully functional.
