It's the protocol that's important. Like
@Foro1561 said , you can get a multi module radio that will allow you whole host of protocols , and you can add a module to it, but these days you can buy ELRS specific radios. Before ELRS (an open source project that runs on CRSF-Crossfires protocol) blasted onto the scene we had Crsf , Flysky , Frsky et al protocols to use. Bind process could be a nightmare for Xm+ receivers. Frsky was terrible.
I've the same set up as Foro1561 but now I've only tiny whoop with flysky on it and don't use it that often.
Your probably best focusing on transmitters and quads/receivers with ELRS.
