Converting a small toy RC plane into a mini FPV cruiser
I’ve had this small rc plane for a few years now, and I’ve decided to breath new life into it by mounting a microscopic aio camera on top of it with the goal of converting it into a tiny cruiser. For this, I’m using the eachine tx02. I chose this camera because it comes bundled with a 200mw vtx along with its overall ease of use.
I was briefly able to achieve flight with a smaller 180mah battery on board to power the camera along with the main battery, but it only flew for around 10 seconds before it stalled into the ground due to its weight. I haven’t had this problem since I soldered the camera directly to the battery plug on the plane.
I’ve had varying success so far with the project and I was able to achieve “stable” flight with a 1S 400mAH lipo along with
a direct connection to the camera through the battery plug onboard. Unfortunately, I didn’t compensate for how noisy the power would be and my dvr always ends up cutting out at around 50% throttle with visible lines beforehand. So, to combat this I’ve ordered a micro LC filter to fight against the noise of the plane’s power system. I’m looking forward to how it’ll fly once it arrives.
Always remember to check the polarity of your wires before testing, because I learnt the hard way when my aio camera started pouring out plumes of smoke because the wires on the Frankenstein of a plug that I was using to the power the camera had it’s polarity reversed. Miraculously, the camera survived and it taught me a lesson that I’ll never forget.
Where can I find a pair of eachine ev800d's in stock for a reasonable price?
I'm looking for a new pair of goggles because my BetaFPV VR03s are in pretty bad shape.
My current problem is that I can't find any official ev800s in stock for a reasonable price (Talking around £80 - £120).
Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can buy a pair from? Thanks.
