The IX 20 is a great radio for planes ect, I'm a long time rc pilot too, but for fpv drones there are just so many benefits and your experience will be much easier with a preferably elrs radio ( there will be a learning curve coming from spektrum) but it is worth it I assure you, the radio and rxs are so much cheaper, keep your IX 20 for fixed wing
