The Apex 3 FPV drone frame is a solid choice for anyone looking to build a compact and cost-effective drone. Its small size makes it ideal for tight spaces and nimble flying, while its no-nonsense design keeps things straightforward for beginners and seasoned builders alike. However, there are a few drawbacks to note. My frame didn’t come with screws for mounting the VTX, and it also lacked 20x20 mounting holes, which meant I had to drill mine to attach a Speedybee TX800. Additionally, the included screws for the frame were made of soft steel and prone to stripping, so I recommend replacing them with higher-quality hardware. For reference, I purchased my frame on AliExpress, which might explain some of the quality issues. Despite these shortcomings, it’s still a decent budget option if you’re willing to put in a little extra effort to get everything set up.
