@hunorcoder On the TX (Transmitter) if set it to 1000mW with dynamic power ON, most ELRS modules now will go up to that level. The tinywhoop ELRS receiver will only be around 10-100mw but the strength on the Transmitter will help compensate, giving the range I stated in those types of areas.
As for the flight time, that’s not so much of an issue. Using something like an appropriate 18650 or 21700 lithium cell, they can easily give you Lipo performance and 10/15 minute or even longer flight times out of a tiny whoop size drone from a single cell. They’re also pretty easy to make.
Happy to send you the info needed on how to make them just send me a message.
Hi, still pretty new in regards to real world experience with FPV drones, and looking for people to fly with and play airsoft too haha, but i do have a bit of experience with digital transmisson protocols. So if you look at a 65mm tinywhoop style drone using ELRS (ExpressLRS), pretty much if you set your transmission power on your TX nice and high (1000mW) with dynamic power ON and use a good quality antenna. In a clean enviroment (open field) 2km would be easily achievable, you'd run into video transmission problems well before you have radio link problems. If you're looking to fly in a more densley wooded area (such as outdoor airsoft sites) you'd be looking at more of a 200-800m range for safe and reliable connection. If you step up to a larger drone or one where the receiver is on its own board insead of on the flight controller, you should expect a far larger range window due to the higher power output and better antennas drone side, of around 2-5km and 0.5-2km respectivley for a reliable and stable connection.
Wzbijmy się razem w powietrze i przenieśmy świat dronów FPV na nowy poziom.
