Using Meta Quest VR Headset for Mixed-Reality FPV Flying
Today on Hackaday there was an article about using a Meta Quest VR headset as a mixed-reality screen for flying. This looks awesome, and since I already have the headset, there is not much cost involved.
- Have anybody tried this and can comment on it?
- Do you have any recommendations for different USB receivers?

Iirc he said the latency made it hard to hit tricks in that freestyle line

I'm planning to do this with the Flightory Stallion Build I'm putting together. My plan is to use the Walksnail Avatar VRX with HDMI out to USBC. Ideally I'd like to hit at least 90FPS but we'll see if that happens. Don't think latency will be a huge deal since it's fixed wing

Give it a go! I would if I already owned the headset.
Would be realty interesting to test the latency. If it is something like 30-50ms that’s fine.
I love the idea though. I wish the DJI goggles 3 could put the external cameras in a small picture and not the other way around.
