I'm intending on building a mid-performance durable 3.5inch racer/cruiser.
Does anyone know of any 3-4 inch motors that uses 3mm shafts all the way through? The only ones I know of is FPVCycle, which costs like A$190 to get 5 motors to australia, or it's 1604.5 which is suprisingly way cheaper than I thought - About A$105. The FPVCycle is very attractive but its way out of my ballpark price-wise, and the good 3.5inch racing frames are 9mm mounts so it's 1604.5 which is a 12mm mount isn't suitable.
I'm still looking for a potential good low-drag durable frame that isn't going to break my bank, if its open source I could ask a local shop to cut from thicker carbon as an alternative.
I also dislike the long-body form factors found in most freestyle frames where there's an unnecessarily long stack holding the frame and FC. Ideally, the camera should also be well protected, without having standoffs in view.
Currently I'm settling in on 3 frame choices, two of which do not satisfy me design-wise: Crux35 (base plate is a flawed design), uangel35 (as a budget option) and the recursionfpv's scythe, which is probably going to cost a rediculous amount to get shipped over since only cncdrones in canada has the rights to cut them at the moment and shipment from the opposite side of the world isn't cheap. But biggest of all, scythe only has 9x9mm motor mounts, which means if I get them, I'll have to go full ham in on the fpv cycle motors which means just the frame and motors alone is going to cost as much as two air 65s
