Born and raised in New Orleans, now living in Jonesboro, LA. I've only been into FPV for about a year. I fly 5 inches, the Air 65, and a lot of stuff in between. Would love to meet up with anyone to go fly somewhere, don't mind traveling.
I started off with DJI goggles 2 and have since upgraded to the goggles 3, there's absolutely no denying the quality of them. They really are the best as far as that goes, hands down....but, there really is a lot of negatives that come with them. First and foremost, the price. For quite a while when I first got into FPV, even to a certain extent to this day, I wouldn't attempt certain things, ie flying through a tight gap, just for the simple fact I was scared to death to break my air unit. Second, the fact that it is not an option to put any kind of module on it to run a different VTX really is annoying. And beyond that, its pretty unsettling to know that there's always a looming possibility that at any moment they could be made completely unavailable in the US. That said, not too long ago I got my first pair of analog goggles, the Skyzone 04x pro, and while I was very skeptical prior to, I love them! Initially I got them just to fly some whoops (the air65 is SO fun!!), but I've since decided that I am building another 5" that's going to run analog. Another kinda cool thing about those, you can use them to fly in simulators. In any event, I'm not saying I do or don't recommend one or the other, I'm just saying you really need to put a lot of thought in to what your intentions/interests are getting into FPV (whoops, 5", freestyle, racing, long range, whatever) as well as your personal situation, because the goggles are a pretty big investment and they do kinda determine your possibilities....for whatever all that rambling is worth to you. If you have any questions about any of the goggles I have, holler!
