I think 3 inch is a pretty good size. It has power to fly like a 5 inch it is noticeable weaker. It is also insanely fun to fly. Plus, when you fly a 3 inch it feels a lot safer because its >250g. One big downside at least for me is that they are pretty fragile. But at least for my 3 inch the repair cost is cheaper that my 75 mm FPV drone, like the BetaFPV Meteor 75 pro. ( I started on 3 inch also). For a 3 inch drone, I recommend the BabyApe pro v3.
Started with a 4 inch then bought a 75mm whoop. I guess the fact that it's so light and worry free when you crash took away the pressure I had with a bigger drone. And when I got back, I improved enough to feel safer and actually enjoy the power upgrade.
I personally think 3" is good to start off with, as long as you're planning on building instead of buying a prebuilt. I started with a 3" volador, (still my only quad btw) and its got enough power to fly outside really easily, but its still small enough that it doesn't sound like a small child being thrown through the air. If you plan to go bnf though, 65 or 75mm is probably best
i live in a tiny neighbourhood and do not have much space to play too. btw i'm going with brushed motors because brushless is just way too expensive here in Malaysia.
I think you should start with a whoop. Because that whoops are really durable and nothing happens when you crash it. We all make mistakes and crash. So if you are completely new to this hobby, consider getting a 75mm whoop.
i mean... i'm not to say like i'm a begeinner, but like a know the basic of how to fly fast , racing, freestyle and tricks. i live in a tiny neighbourhood so i don't really want a big drone. Thanks for your opinion though!
I wanted to but the Babyape v3 pro when i first jumped down into the rabbit hole of fpv because lots of people reviewed about it and said it was a very good budget beginner drone. But i live in a tiny neighbourhood so not really an option even thought the 4300kv motors performed quiet on 3s batts.
OMG I understand sorry I did not mean to be rude with my suggestion, i'm a 58 year old man at the end of my career and the children left the house so I have some little money for hobbies. :(
