Weather Ruined My FPV Plans, So I Hit the Sim Instead
Kind of a bummer about the weather today. I was looking forward to biking out to the park and ripping around a bit after work, but nature had other ideas.
Instead, I opted to spend a little time in the sim working out some stuff.
Same but I've only ever flown Liftoff and DRL (not really a sim IMHO). Have you flown others? I know Heinz lives and dies by it and you're both in my "favorite people to watch and get stoked". Just curious how it stacks up between sim and real world
I started in Liftoff but ultimately didn't like the physics model. Tried a bunch of other paid and free sims but ran into the same problem - they all felt super floaty with not enough control parameters available to the user for resolving that. The thing that sold me on Uncrashed is really the amount of customizability in configuring your drone in-game. I was able to mock up a quad that feels, more or less, like my real 3.5" and the cool part is that I was able to export a community copy for others to mess around with which automatically updates as I make further adjustments to bring it more in line with the IRL one.
I honestly can say that I have not found a better FPV sim than Uncrashed
