G'day old guy. I have a question to ask. How do you record the sound of your motors for video and can you also hear your motors while flying as well? Just curious.

The camera has a mic on it. It also has a setting for FPV, so the sound isn't too loud when recorded. And, yes I can hear the sound through my goggles. Most flight controllers have a mic right on the board. It sends the sound to the goggles. There is an earphone jack on the goggles so that you can hear the quads motors. I don't use it very often. Its an option that drone racers like to use, as it is important for them to hear what the quad motors are doing when flying, gives them more control.
Why do we fly? Because we gotta!!!

I think it is important that a viewer can hear the pilot's throttle control. It's all about throttle control! We learn from each other by watching and listening. Watching is kool, but listening to what a pilot is doing with the throttle helps me understand where the power is needed to complete a maneuver successfully. At least, that is how it works for me.
