Built 10 inch Rekon drone with O4 video, GPS and stuff. Flew a plenty of long range flights and have decided to go for an ultimate LR. Strapped 30000 mah solid state battery and off we go. Signs were there, but - when it's itching, you must scratch. Soo, the weather is kind of misty, but no worries - we do have a GPS! Direction to home is our savior. Arm quad, fly 19 km and - crap. GPS has left the chat. Probably one of the wires went off. Haven't checked thoroughly the drone before. Well, we still have video and RC. Right? Right. But... The message of RX loss appears more and more often. Turns out my Nomad module is working at 25 milliwatts. Bugger... Well, it's only a messages, so far no actual rx loss. And the video link comes good. But I actually have no idea where I am and the turn around manoeuvre later turned out to be continuation of the route manoeuvre. Ended up flying 26 km away and at that point, having no idea of the whereabouts, another genius idea - let's share our video from G3 goggles to a friend, he'll definitely know where am I and tell me where to turn! Enable wifi and bye bye video link... Soo... Time to land. Hard land it was. Lowered the throttle, and after some (as I thought) adequate amount of time - disarm. Connect goggles to a laptop, download and analyse DVR, recreate the route flown and go to a crash site. Look for a drone for a half of an hour, and find it damaged, but not so much.
