Binding an ELRS Whoop is a straightforward process. You only need to set the same bind phrase on both your remote and drone. Here's how to do it:

1. Setting the Bind Phrase on Your Remote

• Enable Wi-Fi:

  • Open the system settings on your remote.
  • Select "ELRS" (should be the first option).
  • Choose "Enable Wi-Fi."

• Connect to the Access Point:

  • Your remote will create a Wi-Fi access point.
  • Connect to it using the password: expresslrs.

• Enter the Bind Phrase:

  • Once connected, look for an input field to enter a bind phrase.
  • Remember this phrase—it must match what you set on the drone.

• Save and Exit:

  • Save the settings and exit the ELRS menu (or turn off the remote).

2. Setting the Bind Phrase on Your Drone

• Power Up the Drone:

  • Attach a battery or (preferably) connect the drone to your computer.
  • Note: Using a computer is safer as it doesn’t activate the motors or, for larger drones, the VTX (video transmitter).

  • After about a minute, the ELRS module will create a Wi-Fi access point with “RX” in its name (indicating the receiver).

  • Input the same bind phrase you set on the remote.
  • Save the settings (reboot the module if prompted).
  • Note: If the module reboots, your Wi-Fi connection will drop—this is normal.
