youre gonna want a lollipop, they're generally the answer unless you specifically need the other types. This set up is going to be range limited in other ways, thankfully that means a high priced one isnt necessary, but getting a genuine one still is. Still a great combo for whooping and practicing! Also, I have a lot of antennas, they're only like $10-$30us, so they're one of the more accessible things to get and experiment with. Nothing wrong with trying different types of cheap ones, but a good lollipop is a must imo.
Not a dumb question at all! In a very simple sense, diversity just switches between any 2 antennas based on which is getting the best signal. So you could have a patch and a lollipop and it would switch to the patch when you get further away, or 2x lollipop and itd do the same. I use lollipop on my goggles and both linear and lollipop on the whoops. Dji actually uses linear on goggle and lollipop on the o4 pro and somehow has the best signal of everything, but thats not solely due to antenna type. RF is magic, I love it, but it's weird and wild.
