Corporate fulltime working drone IRL but it pays the bills. Gonna be making vids for fun. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I like doing it.

AIR always feels really good. I've been watching a few different videos about setting up a logical switch that would make it so that 90% of the throttle is set for Acro, but when you drop down to 10% throttle or less it switches to air that way the quad doesn't just fall out of the sky during a power loop or similar maneuvers. I really want to know how different it will feel flying mostly Acro. As per usual, the digital footage is lookin solid!

Uncrashed has by far been my favorite sim for freestyle flying. I also have Velocidrone, LiftOff, LiftOff:Micro Drones, TRYP, and The Zone. There are a good number of FPV sim reviews out there, and I agree with the consensus most of them have in the opinion that there is no 'one size fits all' for which sim is best. My thoughts on the matter though is that Uncrashed is one of the more upper tier options. So good choice!

I understand that you need AMA membership to fly at AMA fields, the logic logics on that note. They were also claiming it as a noobie friendly event, which would go against the theory that everyone attending that event would be part 107 certified IMO. My qualm with it is more so that there are other groups that will do indoor races at some place like a Dave & Busters for example, with no outlying requirements, so to me it feels like a "WE WANT MONEY" thing. Which is what urks me.  I went back to the group that I saw it posted in to see if I could find additional details backing my point, and naturally the post seems to have vanished /  been removed. I'm not disagreeing with you in any way, it was just something that was bugging me. lol

There are a couple groups on FB in my local(ish) area that I want to go meet up with and fly. One of them seems super laid back and always has guys posting sick spots, but they are the farther group being 1.5-2hrs out. The one that is a bit closer mostly does whoop related things, totally fine by me given that most of my gear is fairly versatile. The closer one put together a whoop race that looks like it would be an absolute blast to go be a part of with the caveat that they were doing it at an AMA owned FRIA, with it explicitly stated in the event description that AMA membership would be required, and enforced. Personally, I don't like that. I'm sure some of their reasoning for wanting to use the FRIA was so people could fly things other than whoops during / after the event but putting it behind the paywall like that felt dumb and counter productive to me. I get it, but also wouldn't want to be forced to support the AMA because to me that organization feels like a skateboarder that became part of city council in the hopes that one day the council will let them skate the spot that they really want to right outside the court house. Then in the process that skater assimilates, becoming a part of the thing that they disagreed with from the beginning. Am I crazy for feeling this way?

Saw an entry in a whoop comp (can't remember which one), immediately knew the exact spot. Once I saw the clip I knew I had to go give it a run myself. I don't really care about copyright hits on the music choice. In it for the love of the game bb!

Depending on how you got started, if you jumped off with a BNF you can try building. In the same token, if you did build, you can try building something bigger/smaller. My first build was a 5" and that was a hell of a learning experience. Picked up a whoop, and now have a very scratchy itch to build one of my own.

Let's take flight together and elevate the world of FPV drones to new heights.
