Frustrated with New FPV Gear - Help Needed!
guys I’m super frustrated with fpv rn. I am having so many problems and I don’t know why. All my equipment is new too. Just recieved my fat shark echos. And I have a air65. I bound them and flew with my friends goggles until I could get mine. I finally got mine and the battery life is not good at all. They probably just gave me a bad battery and every time I fly I receive the black screen of death or no OSD/ number display. The black screen of death flickers every once in a while and I will lose my display numbers often. Sometimes I’ll get lucky and everything will work perfectly for about a minute or two and then I will start having the issues again. If anyone knows what’s happening and if it is an easy fix you would help me out so much. (Pics of drone down below.)

I am sorry you are having a tough time. It's not always fun. I can't speak to your goggles having issues. But I have an air65f. Is the quad turning off? Are you hearing any of the startup tones when this black screen happens? Do you get the betaflight splash screen? I see your air65 has met the grass a few times, was the grass wet? I don't think I have got mine wet yet.

I also have the air65 f. When I turn it on it starts up with the jingle. Sometimes the lights don’t turn on so I have to unplug it and replug it. If the battery moves it looses power for a second and then turns back on. While I fly it it flickers black for a second and does it rapidly for a while. The odd usually disappears before it happens but sometimes it’s in Radom orders. I have crashed so many times with it. (Because of the flickering.) is their a way to maybe clean the board, maybe it’s dirty. I thought it was because the battery connected on the board was not properly soldered on. Still have to find my friend to help me. There are power lines by my house but I do t think that should affect anything. (The big power lines) so yeah become really frustrated. Do know it you had this problem but my pigtail end broke exposing the wires yesterday to make everything worse.

I’m just worried I got defective stuff and that I won’t be able to return anything and get my money back. There are not fpv stores in Florida where I live so yeah. Bought my first drone and radiomaster pocket. Flew the with my friends goggles. Had a blast no problems. Flew it without goggles until goggles arrived and now they arrived I’m haveing all these wierd problems. The goggles do get hot tho. I’m going to have my friend bring his goggles over and let me try them and if it doesn’t do it that means it’s the goggles and if it does it means it’s the drone.

If your friends goggles work fine with your air65, you may want to return the goggles you got. Not sure about getting hot or what you mean. Like you want to take them off because they are making your face hot?
If it is still doing it, the aio of the air65 is likely damaged from getting it wet, no return for that. You could get another aio, or a whole new air65. GetFPV and RDQ are based in FL, so shipping would at least be quick if they have what you need.
This hobby can be a bit unforgiving because the nature of electronics. I will say, if it is wet out, I usually just don't fly. I crash too much as well. I don't want to know if they would survive. I won't even turtle my bigger drones if they are on the grass or dirt anymore. Just flings stuff all over the quad that could make the crash even worse.

No they just get hot at front. Seems normal they don’t get hot on me only to the touch they are a little warm

What’s the aio. I tried to clean it with rubbing alcohol. Still had the same problem. I think it’s a power issue because if I don’t get the battery and connector just right it does the jingle but the lights don’t work and it won’t bind or have video. I don’t think it’s the power lines or goggles. Still could be but I’m thinking the power connector is not on good. Gave all my drone stuff to my friend today he is going to check it out. I bought the goggles from Amazon because I had a gift card so returns are longer but then again it’s Amazon. I just hope it is an easy fix like soldering.
